FTP Upload

There are two popular methods of web based file transfer- attachments to emails, and FTP file transfer software such as Fetch for the Mac and WSFTP for the PC. FTP transfers can also be done through some browser software such as Internet Explorer 5.5 or Netscape 6.0 (and higher).

Settings for using FTP software:

Using a browser to transfer files: Some browsers (such as Internet Explorer 5.5 and higher) may allow users to simply go to ftp://ftp.bluevisionprintingandgraphics - You will then be prompted for an username and password.

File Transfer Help

Transferring files via BlueVision Printing's FTP is the quickest way for you to send your files to us. If you're having difficulty using the FTP, read these instructions or call BlueVision at:(713) 847.8474

Setting-up your computer

To place your files onto the BlueVision Printing FTP, you must have either an FTP client or a browser that supports direct FTP access. If your computer requires an FTP client and you do not yet have one installed, you must download one and install it. Any FTP software will work, however, we provide links to download WSFTP for PC users and Fetch for MAC users.

If your browser supports FTP access, you will simply enter the FTP URL - ftp.bluevisionprintingandgraphics.com) into your browser address bar to enter the FTP site. Microsoft Internet Explorer offers the most support for browser based FTP use, however, depending on your installation of IE, your browser may or may not support a graphic FTP interface. AOL users also have the option of using the built in FTP features AOL provides, located in Internet > FTP.

You may find that you are unable to login unless you change a "FTP" transfer setting to "PASSIVE FTP TRANSFER" in your browser/FTP client settings.

In Internet Explorer this setting is under Tools > Internet Options > Advanced - within the "Browsing" section. If you are using Internet Explorer on the MAC - you would change your internet options under Control Panels > Internet > Advanced. In Fetch - this setting is under Customize > Preferences > Firewall

If you will be transferring files frequently, we recommend that you purchase WSFTP Pro ( PC) or Fetch (MAC). This software will allow you to make quick, easy transfers to our FTP site.

Compressing your file

We ask that you compress your files before submitting them to the BlueVision Printing. This prevents file corruption as well as speeding up transfer time. FTP PC users can use WinZip and MAC users can use Stuffit to compress their files. If you are unable to compress your file, you may still send it to BlueVision Printing. The total transfer time may take significantly longer, especially if files are larger than 8 mgs.
